Reporting

All students who are registered in the Grade 9 mathematics course must be accounted for, including English language learners and students with special education needs.

The following categories of students identified by the school or board will not be included in school or board results (unless their inclusion is requested by the school or board):

  • home-schooled;
  • Section 23;
  • adult;
  • e-learning (only those students who do not reside within the jurisdiction of the school board offering the e-learning course);
  • independent or private study;
  • Independent Learning Centre and
  • students whose permanent residence is outside of Ontario.

For more information about accounting and reporting for all students, refer to Accounting and Reporting for All Students, and Explanation of Terms. These documents outline the procedures for the accounting and reporting of results for students, including those with unique or special circumstances, with respect to their participation in EQAO assessments.

Individual Student Reports (ISRs)

ISRs will be provided to teachers and school administrators shortly after students complete the Grade 9 Assessment of Mathematics for fully participating students. These results will be included as part of a student’s final Grade 9 mathematics course mark as per the Ministry’s direction in the Growing Success: Assessment, Evaluation, and Reporting in Ontario’s Schools, Grades 1 to 12 (2010) document, including the Growing Success: Mathematics Addendum, Grade 9 (2024).

ISRs will only be available to teachers and school administrators after the following steps are completed:

  1. Students complete both sessions (each session has two stages) of the assessment.
  2. School administrators validate student data (refer to the Validating Student Information section).
  3. Teachers submit student responses to EQAO (refer to the Submitting Student Responses section).
  4. Teachers request the ISRs to be generated for students.
  5. EQAO confirms student results and releases the reports.

Reports will automatically be available approximately one day after student responses have been submitted to EQAO if school administrators have validated student data.

NOTE
Students must engage in both sessions for an ISR to be generated. Shortly after the administration period closes, ISRs will be available for students who were absent or did not fully participate in the Grade 9 Assessment of Mathematics. Students who did not access the assessment, did not respond to any questions or left all questions blank for at least one session will receive an overall level of NULL (Dot Score: No Data).

Teachers and school administrators can access ISRs through the e-assessment system by following these steps:

In the fall of the school year following the assessment, school, school board and provincial results will be released and the ISRs will only be available to school administrators.

Once the Individual Student Reports are available, follow the steps below to access to them.

IMPORTANT
You must have validated all student information. Please refer to the steps in the section called Validating Student Information.

NOTE
ISRs will only be available approximately one day after the main teacher of the class has generated the reports and EQAO has reviewed and released them.
