Supported software
The following accessibility and accommodation software are supported:
- Built-in text-to-speech (an internal feature available on the assessment)
- Read&Write for Google Chrome
- Dragon NaturallySpeaking
- Kurzweil 3000
- NVDA Screen Reader
- JAWS
NOTE
If you want to use a software that is not listed, contact eqao-support@vretta.com.
If your software is not compatible with the lockdown browsers (SEB or Kiosk), the student may use alternative access. This access allows the software to run normally with alternative security measures that notify the teacher if the student attempts to navigate away from the assessment window. The school administrator must ensure that the assistive technology is selected in the the student record located on the Accommodations tab in order to gain alternative access. Students will log in through the EQAO website login page.
If Direct Access has been selected for the entire school, the SEB or Kiosk will not be required.
IMPORTANT
Only students with an IEP that states an assistive technology accommodation can use the alternative access.
